On today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box, host Adam Burke continued painting a comprehensive picture of how he breaks down starting pitchers, including a focus on some of the ones that we have already talked about. Today’s topic of discussion was about contact quality against. There are some important metrics, like exit velocity, Hard Hit%, and Barrel rates that are a big part of Adam’s handicapping and he explained the reasons why on this podcast.

Adam looked at extremes on the exit velocity sides both ways, talked about what constitutes a barreled ball and what makes them so bad, and mentioned additional names of pitchers that are on his “bet on” and “fade” lists for the upcoming 2020 baseball season.
