Zachary Sutterfield grew up in a very strong military household as both of his parents were service members. He planned to attend college to become a teacher… but then the unthinkable happened. Zach transferred to Texas State University and within 10 days, his apartment complex was purposefully set afire. Five individuals lost their lives in the fire (two of whom were Zach’s roommates) and Zach himself sustained life-threatening injuries, including burns to over 69% of his body and a traumatic brain injury. Although he was only given a 20% chance to live, he overcame all odds. More than a year later, Zach continues to recover and share his story. Although no arrests have been made in the arson case, there remains a $100,000 reward for information leading to the perpetrator. Listen in as we hear Zach’s story firsthand and how the military lifestyle has helped him maintain his fortitude, steadfastness, and personal strength.
