Kristi Sakai joined us today and opened up the conversation on adolescents, autism, and sexuality. We were pleased to have Kristi share with us information from her upcoming book which will address this topic. Parents will be especially interested in the discussion we had with Kristi about the research she has done for the book which covers the importance of speaking with our autistic children about sex, and some important tips on how to get over being uncomfortable approaching this conversation with our ASD children. Kristi is a wife and mother to one daughter, two sons, and husband, all of whom have Asperger's. The Autism Society of America's 06 Literary Work of the Year in the Family Social category award went to Kristi for her book Finding Our Way: Creating a Supportive Home and Community for the Asperger Syndrome Family. She is a national presenter, as well as Editor of the Autism Asperger Publishing Company’s online newsletter: AAPC Community of Support for Parents, Professionals and People on the Spectrum.
