Are you ready for some glamour?  We are going back to Hollywood in the 1950s.  Elizabeth Taylor.  Rock Hudson.  James Dean.

GIANT was a 1956 epic film based on Edna Ferber’s bestselling novel of ranchers, oil, and racial conflict set deep in the heart of Texas. It featured three of the most charismatic stars of the post-war Hollywood era, but it may be best known because it was the last film James Dean made before his tragic death.

Today’s guest on TRUE STORY is Don Graham, author of GIANT: Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean, Edna Ferber, and the Making of a Legendary American Film.  This absolutely fascinating book peels back the curtain on both the glamour and the seamy underbelly of Hollywood in the 1950s.
