She is a woman of many firsts.

 She is the first woman of color to be elected Mount Pocono Borough Council president, a position she currently holds.

She is the former chair of the Monroe County Democratic Committee and a current Commissioner for the Pocono Regional Police, the first African American to hold either of these positions.

She is a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army (retired), a sergeant major who served with distinction in Kuwait, Bahrain and Afghanistan as well as in the states.

Claudette was born on the island of Jamaica and emigrated to Brooklyn, New York. As a single mother of three, she moved to Mount Pocono in 1998, seeking more opportunity for her family.

As per Claudette “I am destined to break the status quo,I am As per Claudette “I am destined to break the status quo,I am focused on breaking the status quo of what leadership looks like”. My voice, position, and role matter! I come as one but represent the voices and needs of so many. So, what I say and do matter!”
