Tonight Episode is 2016 NFL Draft Review for your Cowboys.

What was the goal of the 2016 NFL Draft.  Most organizations aim to find rookie starters with any picks in the top 100.  Dallas had 3 picks so they should come away with 3 rookie starters. Then add quality backup players in the 4th and 5th rounds.

Dallas’ needs were Defensive End, Cornerback, 1-Technique Defensive Tackle, Strong Safety, Middle LB, QB and 2nd outside WR.  There were starting jobs up for grabs at all of those positions except for QB1.

I take 2 approaches when evaluating a teams draft.

  1. Evaluating each player taken at the round selected.
  2. Evaluating the teams approach to the draft addressing their needs and coming away with rookie starters and quality depth.
