At the time of this episode of "Ascending Way" as many as 200,000 people are most likely dead in the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake. As times passes, the number of fatalities will doubtlessly increase. Estimates of the final number are in excess of 350,000. The potential for even greater deaths due to disease and lack of an infrastructure for the survivors is very grave. However; the Haitian catastrophe is also a valuable opportunity for the global community to learn how to marshal it's forces to not only respond to catastrophic events but to put structures and services into place to mitigate the impact of such events. Join Ascending Way host Al Anderson in a lively discussion of not only potential disasters, but opportunities for growth and development worldwide that preparing for readiness can provide.
