Angelica is thrilled to welcome Jerilyn Stapleton to the show today. Jerilyn was born in Chicago, raised in Long Beach, CA where is started performing with the family act "The Duggan Family" and played the part of Liat in "South Pacific" with the Long Beach Civic Light Opera among other musicals, before moving to Hollywood to do a TV Series, Dick Clark's "Where the Action Is" in the mid 60's. As a child she experienced four different kinds of violence by the time she turn nineteen. So it is a no brainer that she works now to end violence. And currently serves as the CA State Co-Coordinator for The Peace Alliance in the Los Angeles, Valley & Santa Barbara areas in addition to working for the Jewish Labor Committee as their Project Director for the Campaign to End Human Trafficking in American Labor. She is an AA (an Actor & Activist) She became active with her unions and served as the Co-Chair of the AFTRA Women's committee and also served on the SAG Women's committee. She became a member of NOW (National Organization for Women) and served on the front lines to pass the Equal Rights Amendment and has held several offices on the local, state level. She co-founded the Hollywood NOW Chapter, created and serves as chair of the Media Reform and Peace and Safety committees for CA NOW and serves on the national Global Feminist Issues and Strategies committee. Her work began with the Peace Alliance in 2005 after hearing Marianne Williamson speak about establishing a cabinet level Department of Peace and Nonviolence. Azim Khamisa was a keynote speaker at the conference in Washington D.C. and she was privileged to be his assistant when he spoke at the California conference in 2006. And is honored to be in the first graduating class of Azim's Forgiveness Workshop and is now certified to teach which she will be doing in the very near future. Her personal mission statement is "To end violence worldwide through peace, prosperity through forgiveness!"
