Mark and Michelle Pruitt co-founded the non-profit Uplands PEAK Sanctuary in 2012 and began taking in animals in 2013. The Pruitt’s built Uplands PEAK from the ground up and provide all functions as full-time volunteers. Their work includes animal care, maintenance, and supervision of the organization. The Pruitts had no farm experience before starting PEAK. Mark worked as a clinical social worker and Michelle worked in the corporate sector. They have created an oasis for abused and neglected animals in the middle of animal agriculture and remain passionately committed to the mission and vision of Uplands PEAK.
