Divorce is painful. It leaves an emotional scar that for some never heals. Fear of repeating a painful memory keeps many from ever marrying again.  Permanent distrust of the opposite sex prevents many men and women from even establishing an emotionally intimate relationship that could lead to marriage, because they fear getting hurt again.  As long as the pain of the past relationship influences your present decisions, the person you are no longer with is still controlling your life. You are stil with them, even though the relationship has ended. It's like never leaving the gravesite of a deceased loved one. Your entire life is now defined by the grief of your loss, and you can't stop grieving and start living again. You may be avoiding pain, but you're also avoiding pleasure, joy, fulfillment and satisfaction. How do you break free from the pain of a broken past relationship and trust someone enough to try love and marriage again?
