Afrikan Knowledge Beyond The Book Club Presents Author Joe Harper

Born in Lambert, Mississippi and raised as a sharecropper’s son . The author Joe Harper was the first African-American from Quitman County, Mississippi to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi State University. After receiving his degree, Harper worked as a crop scientist for some of the largest agricultural companies in the nation, until a catastrophic illness forced him to retire in Evansville, Indiana.
