I am a mother of four who first dealt with CPS as a young mother of two. While this country was coping with the aftermath of sept 11, I was frantically trying to ascertain the whereabouts of my children who didn't show up for a visit at the CPS office in Riverside. My children were the victim of a grandmother who wanted custody and used prohibition to try to acquire it. My daughter had her shoulder dislocated in foster care, my son was double immunized. The mantra, Never Forget! Has a different meaning for me. I will never forget the pain and anguish felt by my children, I will never forget the way our family suffered at the hands of government gone wild who only cared about adopting my children out. I was afraid for years of speaking out, until I heard the screams of another mother as they ripped her child from her breast. Then it was another mom, and another, and then a father. It became an overwhelming tide of parents screaming for justice. Now my mission is to help every family struggling against the system, by teaching our community that WE can be the village we need to keep our families whole and protected. Shelter, food and community go a long way towards reclaiming our rights and liberties.
