Blended sounds of classic uptown funk with modern R&B to produce an invigorating album to reawaken your love of music. Highly regarded US Funk outfit active between 1974-1982, combining strong soul/r&b and jazz elements, and responsible for underground funk club track 'Glide'. The band's original members comprised: Bruce Carter - drums (b. 28.12.56 - d. 12.08.06) Bruce Smith - percussion & vocals Marlon McClain - guitar Nathaniel Phillips - bass Dennis Springer - tenor sax Dan Brewster - trombone Donald Hepburn - keyboards & vocals Michael Hepburn - keyboards & vocals Sherman Davis - lead vocals. Formed in 1972 in their hometown of Portland, Oregon USA. They were taken under the inspirational wing of Crusaders trombonist and producer Wayne Henderson in 1974 who brought the young band to Fantasy records, beginning a creative four-year partnership from which the band would release a series of high-quality albums.
