Van Ark is a Producer/Composer/Music Artist/Songwriter/Filmmaker/Curator/Archivist of Vintage Multimedia and Alumni of The College of Bryant & Stratton from Richmond, Virginia. Van produces an eclectic range of music from Experimental, Jazz Fusion, Hip-Hop, Electro, and Fusion. As a diverse producer, solo artist, and collaborator Van Ark likes to push the boundaries of music and sound. He has performed on and released a variety of albums, and E.P’s, including composing musical themes for The Potboiler VCU Radio Shows, such as The Smoking Room and Ordinary People Podcast. Some of his credits include producing and remixing for artists such as the late Baatin of Slum Village, Shuanise, The No BS! Brass Band and many more. Van Ark also has been featured on various artists’ albums internationally and nationally. More people are recognizing and getting into Van Ark’s music due to the numerous music projects that he has produced independently on his own imprint, Arkteknologies (USA), and also thru international music labels such as StillMuzik (France), Root70Lounge (Japan), and Filter Label (Macedonia).
Most recently, he has collaborated with two bands The Bionic Megaz! and also Lab UHF, which have resulted in project releases and various remixes. Van Ark’s consistent output of music has contributed to interviews and increased radio play on stations nationally and internationally. Currently Van Ark has been inducted as a charter member of the College of William & Mary Hip Hop Collection and recently co- taught a kids radio class for the youth program Art 180, which was presented at the Virginia Repertory Theatre. Van Ark is currently working on film, music, and curating vintage multimedia for his brand Arkteknologies, including working as a partner in promotions and marketing with Quiree co.,ltd(Tokyo, Japan)
