Join us Thursday at 10 p.m. EST in the Magick Playhouse as we delve back into the code of silence in the black community. During the first episode we discussed the frequency of sexual abuse within our homes, familiies and communities. Tonight mystic philosopher Dina Deon, Ms Grier & our special guest Deon will be going further into the healing and releasing process to discuss...

  • Why boys are less likely to report sexual abuse
  • Signs of sexual abuse
  • How to protect children from sexual predators
  • Dealing with sexual abuse in your family
  • After effects of sexual abuse

The Statistics

  •  1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men report they were sexually abused before 18
  • Every 8 minutes, Child Protective Service responds to a report of sexual abuse
  • 93% of juvenile sexual assault victims know their attacker
  • 34.2% of attackers were family members
  • 58.7% were acquaintances
  • Only 7% of the perpetrators were strangers to the victim
  • From victim reports, it appears that there is at least 1 pedophile in every black family, and sadly most have more than one
