Dating Abuse Stops Here was founded by Andy and Lynne Russell after their 19-year-old daughter, Siobhan, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 2009. In the months after Siobhan’s death, Lynne and Andy decided that something needed to be done in order to educate the community about the warning signs that they (and Siobhan, herself) had missed. With the help of neighbors and friends, like Wendy Claunch, Dating Abuse Stops Here was created. What started as a brain-storming session in Wendy’s basement became a 501 (c) 3 organization with an award-winning website.

DASH strives to

• Raise awareness in our community of the magnitude and dangers of teen dating violence
• Educate and encourage teens to engage in healthy relationship behavior
• Provide resources to help teens, their parents and friends to recognize and prevent teen dating abuse
