This week on Diasporan Truth , host Twaambo Kapilikisha speaks to award winning artist Samson Kambalu.
Malawi born London based contemporary artist, novelist, and ranter, author of ‘Jive Talker;Or,How to get a British Passport’ , Mr Kambalu will be discussing his work, thoughts about African Youth, african artists and african art.
The most well known of his artworks is Holy Ball, a football plastered in pages of the Bible .
Kambalu works in a variety of media, including painting and drawing, site-specific installation, video, performance and literature. His work criticises art, religion, identity and economic values in a globalised world. His basic influences are the Nyau masquerade culture of his native Malawi and the Protestant tradition of inquiry, criticism and dissent.
