Call in to speak with the host
Mr Brebner Changala is the founder and CEO of Brebner School Chalk Limited which is the leading manufacturer of school chalk and plaster of paris in Zambia. Mr Changala is also a well known political and civil rights activist who recently experienced harassment from Zambia’s Drug Enforcement Agency and Zambia Police. He was charged along with his sister for ‘being in possession’ of illegal substances until the state entered a nolle prosequi in the magistrate’s court.
Mr Changala was among the few Zambians who spoke openly about the Zamtrop corruption case of the late Frederick Chiluba’s administration involving his top government officials which included the chief of the intelligence unit and former finance minister. He joins us on Perspectives to discuss his recent experiences with law enforcement agencies and state of the nation on freedom of expression and human rights.
