Rap music has been heard in Zambia since its introduction on the world stage in the late 1970’s. Today, it is the music of choice for many of our youths and the soundtrack to the global lifestyle known as the hip hop culture. In the beginning Zambian fans were looked down on and ridiculed for copying the language, style of dressing and mannerisms of their music idols. In 2013, certain savvy entrepreneurs are benefiting from the popularity of the genre to create business opportunities for themselves. In this episode of  “Business Sense with Matilda and Ntheye” we will ask the pioneer of the Zambian hip hop movement, Duncan Sodala a.k.a The Holstar, how he has become so successful, what it took to get to where he is today and his plans for the future.
