Whitney  Lukuku spent early years in Luanshya and Kitwe. He went to a  boarding school at Samfya Secondary School and graduated in 1970. He did a two year diploma in forestry at Zambia Forest College Mwekera and graduated in 1973. He immediately got a scholarship to Canada study forestry at Lakehead University, Ontario. Whitney Lukuku is a registered professional forester living and working in British Columbia.
