Mr James Banda is president of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ); he joins us to discuss some high profile legal matters in Zambia. These include the enforcement of the Public Order Act, the suspension of  three high court judges, the ongoing constitutional re-writing process and more.
During the period leading to the presidential and parliamentary elections of 2011, LAZ had raised a lot of concerns particularly on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Act. ZNBC had at the time on several occasions in its news, broadcast libel and slander with no regard for rights of persons. The nation further witnessed then LAZ president become part of the winning opposition party’s cabinet.
Join us as Mr Banda discusses and responds to these impending issues
