Mr Timothy Mwaba Walamba is well remembered for his long tenure as national chairman of the Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ). He has spent all his adult life as an active participant in the political affairs of Zambia and other matters pertaining to the welfare of its citizenry. At the young age of 20 years he joined the United National Independence Party (UNIP), he was responsible for mobilizing members for the party and sensitizing the general public to understand their rights and need for self governance.
Mr Walamba was imprisoned several for his political activities by the colonialists and UNIP government in which he also served as its Member of the Central Committee (MCC). He is our guest on our series of special independence features in which we endeavor to celebrate our freedom fighters.
