Call in to speak with the host
Mr.Elias Ng’andu MPONDELA is the president of the Zambia Amateur Athletic Association (ZAAA), the association entrusted with the great responsibility of governing the sport of Athletics in the nation. A meagre number of seven Zambian athletes participated in the ongoing 2012 London Olympics which the nation managed to send.
Mr Mpondela joins us to discuss the seven athletes’ performance and general state of the sports of athletics in the nation of Zambia. We’ll endeavour to learn from Mr Mpondela how the selection process of athletes to compete in the Olympics and related international tournaments is done. Why did Zambia send only seven athletes, is it the issue of funding or lack of planning? Have Zambian athletes lost the will and desire to compete for their country due to poor incentives and remuneration? There are allegations of a bigger number of delegates compared to that of the athletes.
Join us on Perspectives as Mr Mpondela addresses these questions and related issues concerning the future of athletics in Zambia and any hopes of the nation winning any medals at major international tournament
It's good to talk.
