Ms Hazel Kennedy is the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) whose mandate is to develop, promote and protect the Olympic Movement in accordance with the Charter. They use Sport as the effective tool and respective Governments work directly with the Communities and the National Federation. NOCZ is also responsible for the administration of the All Africa Games and the Commonwealth Games in Zambia. The NCOZ is mandated with mobilizing and preparing Zambian athletes to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

She’ll be joined by Prince Mumba and Gerald Phiri who are both track and field athletes based in the United States. Ms Kennedy will discuss the preparations in terms of training, number of athletes and the category of disciplines they will participate, NOCZ’s relationship with athletes living abroad and related issues. She will also discuss Zambia’s performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and other international events.
