Hon Greyford Monde is the area member of parliament for Itezhi-tezhi constituency in the Southern Province and one of the youngest MPs in the current national Assembly . He has contended that there is a scramble for Southern province by the PF government, and also says that the moving of districts will disadvantage deprived provinces and communities economically. He further argues that the moving of districts from one province to another will adversely affect local norms and customs.
Hon Monde is our guest on the show to discuss the contentious realignment of Itezhi-tezhi and Chirundu districts from Southern Province, this Monday's Choma indaba, the deliberations and resolutions. He will further discuss the practical difficulties and administrative challenges that will arise from this realignment by government. Itezhi-tezhi district is home to the nation's largest hydro-electric power facility; how has this translated into improving the local citizen's quality of life? Hon Monde will also share his views on the current composition of parliament in his capacity as first vice-president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
