Our guests tonight include Retired Navy Admiral Steve Abbot. Admiral Steve Abbot is President and CEO of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Admiral Abbot previously was Deputy Director of the Office of Homeland Security. Immediately prior to assuming this position, he was the Executive Director of Vice President Cheney's National Preparedness Review. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Our Military Kids (www.ourmilitarykids.org). Brian Gallagher from Jim Beam Corporation will be on to talk about their Operation Homefront Initiative (http://www.jimbeam.com/operationhomefront.aspx). Established in 2002, Operation Homefront is a "gritty, roll-up-your-sleeves type of charity" that offers help for our troops and their families including help with counseling, financial aid, even college scholarships. Ms. Susan Keating, who is the current On-Loan Blogger to You Served will visit us on the show. Susan has been blogging for two years on her site, www.susankatzkeating.com, where she offers insight on national security. Keating is also a correspondent for People Magazine, and has written the book, Prisoners of Hope: Exploiting the POW/MIA Myth in America. Ms. Keating is also a strong advocate of soldier’s welfare as she is the daughter of a Korean War Veteran who suffered from PTSD, however he, like many Korean War Veterans, just didn’t know it at the time. Last but not least we are proud to talk to Joyce Mader who is the President of the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., New York Chapter # 1. This chapter is the proud operator of the Blue Star Canteen. http://www.bluestarmothersny1.org/Canteen.html
