Jamila Garrett is a published author. She is a cultivator of the arts and literacy, with a specific focus on communication. She is a Training Specialist & is certified in facilitation, interpersonal communication, employee retention and sales. She drives organization inclusion, leadership development, change management & multi-generational learning theories. Jamila, what a social innovator she is. She serves as the Advisory Board Chair for Fashion Empowering Women ®.
Her poetry book, “Hurricane of Butterflies” represents “Air” and is the first book to contribute to her World Element Collection of poetry. She produced and collaborated with R&B singer Soulz on a spoken word CD entitled “There Was Love”. The CD outlines a story of a relationship featuring Jamila reciting her poetry behind musical beats that demand that you dance in your seat.
Her upcoming poetry book, “Volcano” represents “Fire”. This book combines her love of literacy and fashion as it will feature photos of her that depict selected poems in the book. She is collaborating with Desiree Venn Frederic, CEO/Founder of Fashion Empowering Women® and is donating a portion of Volcano’s book signing proceeds to the organization. “Volcano” provides a platform for artists to showcase their creative talents and adds visual stimulation throughout the book. With a keen interest in decreasing the illiteracy rate in her community, Jamila is an advocate for promoting literacy by facilitating workshops and developing individuals to be exceptional readers, artists, and communicators.
