The priviledge of being near to God brings a higher standard of acountability which the priests learn in this Parsha.  The Priests begin their service to the Lord in the Tabernacle.  The joy of experiencing the glory of the Lord is quickly turned to grief as Nadeb and Abihu are struck dead for taking the matters of the Lord lightly.  This is similar to Ananais and Sapphira's fate in Acts.

Be holy for I am Holy, says the Lord!  As Believers we have the priviledge to be near to God too, and God asks us to be holy.  Learn more about what this means to us in this week's study.  See another aspect of holiness in regards to the food we eat as we study KASHRUT - the dietary laws.

Join Charles and Rose Martin as they study Leviticus 9:1-11:27 - Shmini.
