Discussion about poor doctor-patient communication and it's problems and what people can do about it to take control of their own healthcare experience
Date / Time: 3/25/2007 5:27 PM UTC
Does this sound familiar?
You're sitting in the doctor's office, freezing your buns off because it's cold and the paper gown is so skimpy.....
The doctor comes in and asks what's wrong....
You stumble and start to spit out that your stomach hurts alot.
You think that's enough information for the doctor but the doctor has other ideas. He begins to ask you more about your stomach and then embarrasses you by asking about your bowels..."oh my God, what did I get myself into" you wonder.
This will always seem awkward but you can make it less so by preparing for your visit.
Keep a diary of what's going on - listen in and we'll talk about it!
