This full of life firecracker is so gracious and remarkable! She will steel your heart and empower you to spread your wings! Born in Biratnagar, Nepal, Buna Dahal has been blind since birth. She started her academic years in Dharan and Laboratory High School Kirtipur where she completed her 10th grade. At 18, when she was on her second year of college in Padma Kanya Campus in Kathmandu, she got a wonderful opportunity to participate in the International Program of the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia PA. This program provided training in the areas of access technology, written and spoken English, orientation and mobility and leadership development to young blind and low vision students between 16 and 20 years of age from around the world. She then moved to College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn IL and later transferred to the Columbia College in Chicago, IL and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in June 1998. Here she worked as an assistant to the Director of Career Planning and Placement Office at the Columbia College. At an early age, Buna realized that she had a dream... A dream, not only to survive, but to truly live life to the fullest! She had a desire to spread her wings because she knew there was much more to life than just existing. Today, she fully lives her life with confidence and competence by inspiring others across the globe. Your business is not unique but you are! Our guest this week hits one of my personal passion points. Missions that encourage youth and especially girls to respect themselves. Her first book in the Heartlight Girls series, Beauty’s Secret, integrates her passion for empowering young girls and spiritual awareness. As a single mother, Debra has been loosely termed a “mom-trepeneur,” building a business during her daughter’s nap and preschool hours. Taking a leap of faith, she abandoned her fashion career to pursue her passion to deliver what she feels is a much-needed message into the world through her speaking and books. She believes it was this passion, fueled with positive thinking and visualization using the “Law of Attraction”, which pushed her through numerous obstacles to fulfill her dream and defeat the odds of success.
