The Your World News Media Collective and the Pan African Collective for Advocacy & Action will be hosting a national radio forum on the impact of mass incarceration on the Black/African community within the United States. Some call it “Modern Day Slavery” others call it “The New Jim Crow”, however whatever one calls it; the America system of Mass Incarceration is innately at system bound to the social disease of institutional racism. Nearly 50 percent of all the incarcerated humans in the United States are Black/African, despite only representing 13 percent of the overall population. And one out of every 8 prisoners throughout planet Earth is in fact an African-American.

The American Prison Industrial Complex is an out of control human rights crisis that any humane society would aggressively address and attempt to eradicate----unfortunately US society is far from humane. “Mainstream” American society may not give a damn about this issue, however we must. Solutions and deeper organization comes from intense dialogue. This is why we invite you to participate in the Your World News National Forum on Mass Incarceration/Modern Day Slavery. We invite you to tune in to this forum at the very least, and call in if you have thoughts, testimonials or solutions you would like to share on this important program. We especially invite people who are activists or a part of organizations aimed at dismantling the Prison Industry Complex as we know it. Please spread the word and tune in!
