Your World News takes time to deconstruct our alternative views of “Memorial Day” and why we pay homage and tribute to historical liberation warriors like, but not limited to,: Malcolm X, Richardo Falcon, Queen Nzinga, Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Che Guevara, Nat Turner, John Brown, Ida B. Wells, Nehanda Charwe Nyakasikana, Fred Hampton, Emiliano Zapata, Patrice Lumumba, and so many more. These people used their lives to fight for liberation and against the disease of white supremacy, imperialism, colonization, and chattel slavery. Within the stolen borders of America people like the ones above are methodically hidden from the masses or are blatantly lied about. We plan on doing our part to raise the level of consciousness about these men and women freedom fighters, as well as about the role US wars have played on the world, in general. If we don’t change the framework of the lens we have been programmed to view the world through we will undoubtedly find ourselves continuing to support US wars of aggression and their impact on the nations caught within their midst. Join us this important episode as we all break down the walls of the “boxes” we have been told we must stay inside. VivaLa Revolucion!
