We are coming up on the holiday known as the Fourth of July and/or Independence Day.  July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century during the American Revolutionary war.  The American  Revolution was fought from (1775-1783).  Wild Bill thought it ended in 1776!   July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence.  Sometimes in looking at the news and listening to talk shows we can highlight the negative.  We all have things that we think of as important and sacred.  But sometimes we forget the power of counting our blessings. We encourage you this holiday to stop and think what it means to be an American.  For most of us, the 4th of July is a paid holiday where we can spend time with family and watch fireworks.   But remember that the price of blood by a brave people is what earned us the rights that we enjoy.  We look forward to hearing your comments to this topic.  Just push 1 on your phone and you'll be acknowledged by the last four digits of your phone number when we put you on the air.
