In this episode, Giants punter Jeff Feagles uses two hands instead of one, linebackers Danny Clark and Antonio Pierce kiss and make up, and center Shaun O’Hara explains that it all comes down to faith.
Looking through the eyes of a six-year-old, in this case, Joey Bones, you could plainly see that Giants head coach Tom Coughlin was playing not to lose this past Sunday by opting to go for a field goal instead of a touchdown late in the game. Deemed as a very conservative decision by NY media standards, it ultimately cost the Giants the game and left a very fragile fan base even more dejected and doubtful than the week before. With last Sunday’s 21-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers (5-3), the New York Giants (5-4) will now be heading into their bye week having dropped four in a row.
The sad thing about Sunday’s devastating loss was that the Giants were actually playing with a sense of urgency and ended up with zero turnovers, something that plagued them the previous two weeks. QB Eli Manning completed seventy-six percent of his passes producing a 112.6 passer rating. Manning also threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns. League-leading WR Steve Smith caught eight of those passes and scored on a touchdown to even the score at seven.
As for the defense, CB Terrell Thomas (INT), linemen Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck were able to disrupt Chargers QB Philip Rivers until he administered an 18-yard TD strike to WR Vincent Jackson with less than forty seconds left that put San Diego up by one. The touchdown as well as the loss sent Coughlin and Co. further downward into what is becoming a very disappointing season.
Even with Big Blue’s inconsistent play of late, Talking Giants Football’s Anthony C. Wayne can still see the light at the end of the tunnel for his favorite team. However, his co-host, Tommy L. Biggs, isn’t so convinced that this particular group of players has the wherewithal to be able to pick up where the previous Giants teams left off. Biggs wholeheartedly feels that without someone who breeds confidence and camaraderie like a Michael Strahan, this current Giants lineup will always come up short, week in and week out.
Tommy Romero of Mets Public Record fame joins the show and gives his two cents regarding the struggling New York Giants. Romero, Biggs, and Wayne discuss the surprising play of the Cincinnati Bengals and the importance in NFL teams to be on the upswing at this point of the season if they are going to make a run for the post-season.

In this episode, fans await the possible return of LB Michael Boley, the Giants could be headed for an 8-8 season, and what has Antonio Pierce not only feeling frustrated but mind-boggled.
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin wasn’t very pleased with his team’s performance this past Sunday. Could you blame him? The New York Giants (5-3) sustained their third consecutive loss, 40-17, to the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) knocking them out of the top spot in the NFC East. New York’s inability to avenge last season’s divisional playoff lost to the Eagles further reinforced the notion that the Giants are indeed a struggling football team. “No one said this was going to be easy,” Coughlin told his players after Sunday’s game.
Aside from RB Brandon Jacobs’ 86 yards rushing, the combination of offense, defense, and special teams didn’t add up to spit. The offense, led by QB Eli Manning, was forced to play catch-up throughout the contest. Manning gave the Giants another uninspiring performance by completing just 45 percent of his passes for 178 yards and an interception. The defense was accused of “shoddy tackling” that was more or less caused by poor communication. “We’re out there thinking too much,” DE Justin Tuck said. As for the special teams, kick returner Domenik Hixon fumbled the opening kick off of the second half giving the football right back to the Eagles.
Adding insult to injury, Talking Giants Football’s Anthony C. Wayne was forced to fly solo in this episode due to technical issues with his phone lines. In a valiant attempt to get through to the show, co-host Tommy L. Biggs would eventually be denied the chance to participate and share his insightful commentary regarding the state of the NY Football Giants. At any rate, Wayne decides to pay homage to his co-host by asking for more pressure from the defensive line and citing Giants tight end Kevin Boss’ 18-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter that made the score, 16-7.
Wayne wraps up the show with the hope that he’ll see the Giants we all know and love against the San Diego Chargers this Sunday and head into the bye week on a good note.

In this episode, the Giants find themselves just a half-game atop the NFC East, TE Kevin Boss takes a heck of blow, and head coach Tom Coughlin assures football fans that if you turn the ball over four times, you don’t have much of a chance to win.
Unable to find the error in their ways after experiencing their first defeat of the season, the New York Giants (5-2) find themselves in a similar predicament this week with a 21-17 loss to the much-improved Arizona Cardinals (4-2). Unlike the previous matchup against the Saints, the Giants actually had a fighting chance at home this past Sunday to come out with a victory.
Down by ten points midway through the fourth quarter, Kevin Gilbride, the Giants offensive coordinator, opts to kick a short field goal instead of going for it on fourth and one at the two-yard line looking to keep his offense within seven. After a three and out by the Cardinals, Giants QB Eli Manning (19/37, 243 yards, a touchdown, and 3 INTs) stages an impressive comeback that unfortunately ends with an Ahmad Bradshaw fumble, one of four Giants turnovers. Combined with two very costly delay-of-game penalties on third-down situations by Manning and the unavailability of tackle Kareem McKenzie (groin), the offense was unable to muster up any sort of a rhythm.
On the flip side, RB Brandon Jacobs was able to look like his old self again by bruising his way to a four-yard TD run that gave the Giants an early 7-0 lead. Jacobs would finish the game averaging 5.8 yards per carry and produce 76 yards on the ground. For the fourth straight game, rookie wide-out Hakeem Nicks found the end zone. This time unexpectedly.
After mentioning that the Giants defense held QB Kurt Warner and Arizona’s pass-first offense to a total of 288 yards, Talking Giants Football’s Anthony C. Wayne admits he was impressed with their performance throughout the contest. Co-host Tommy L. Biggs thinks otherwise calling for more pressure from the outer edges that would have disrupted the Cardinals quarterback.
The show takes an interesting turn as both, Wayne and Biggs discuss the problems of dementia that has reared its ugly head among retired football players.
The dynamic duo rap up the show and agree that this up-coming Sunday against divisional rival Philadelphia is a must-win for the Giants. Biggs boldly expresses that no mistakes wins football games which is fitting since the Eagles lead the league with a plus eleven in turnover differential.
