What is “the summer slide”
The “summer slide” occurs when students lose some of the math and reading skills that they gained during the school year.

Summer learning loss, or summer slide, has implications that go beyond report cards, test scores and letter grades. Once a student is struggling or behind, they can lose confidence not only in school but also in other areas of life.
