Jamaican-born global humanitarian, storyteller, and yoga instructor, Nadine McNeil combines these elements to deliver a subtle yet powerful package that she coins, yoga ethnochoreology. An evolving yogini for nearly a decade, Nadine McNeil’s yoga practicing experience spans various forms of yoga — Ashtanga, Bikram, Kundalini and Sivananda. She is also a writer for Elephant Journal. McNeil combines her two passions – yoga and social entrepreneurship – in a meaningful and viable way through her involvement in projects that lend themselves to these qualities. She initially joined the UN family back in 1986, at UN Headquarters in New York, and continues her career in peacekeeping initiatives even today. McNeil has traveled the world from Indonesia to Africa with her home base as Jamaica. "As a global activist, I use my ‘voice’ as a communicator and writer to bring awareness to others of the issues that continue to plague humanity." WE will discus how yoga has lead her down this path of global activism and her future work in the world. Listen to this episode if you have ever wondered about activism in your own community.
