LaTiese Howard is a passionate service worker. With her Master's in Social Work, she is involved in multiple projects, including Covered with Care, Project Kid Kits, and Warming up the D. In the spring of 2012, Ms. Howard started a food pantry through Forgotten Harvest.

Among her many philanthropic endeavors, LaTiese also uses poetry to raise awareness and reach out to youth. Her latest event is Poetry with a Purpose, which will take place on August 18th.


About Your Host:

JoAnnA “JoJo” Perkin is a Canadian-born artist.  She has been a high school English teacher for the past sixteen years within the Jackson Public School District (where she has served as English Chair for the last five years, and facilitated at-risk after-school programs for thirteen years). She holds a Master’s in Education.

Perkin is a recipient of the national A Day Made Better Award, and was a 2010 Teacher of the Year.

Ms. Perkin writes a bi-weekly column for The Blazer, a local, urban newspaper.  In her spare time, she enjoys performing spoken word and featuring/hosting poetry events.
