Corey Shy  has gained national attention (72,700 hits and counting) with his poignant piece entitled I am Trayvon Martin. In this powerful synopsis of his life, Corey begins by juxtaposing two pics (seen above) of himself at age 17 and the other of him recently at the age of 21. He goes on to disclose his current status of entering medical school, but makes it very clear  that  "I COULD HAVE BEEN TRAYVON MARTIN!!!"

In 2009, during his sophmore year at Prairie View A&M University, Shy was accepted into the Undergraduate Medical Academy.  By his senior year, Corey became President of Brothers Leading and Cultivating Knowledge, and was accepted into Texas A&M Medical School.

Mr. Corey Shy will begin his first day of class on July 29!
