Rachel Spencer Hewitt was born in San Antonio, Texas where she began performing at a very young age, training in acting, singing, and all styles of dance. She entered Trinity University on the prestigious Baker-Duncan scholarship for theater, and upon graduation, attended the Yale School of Drama MFA Acting program where she earned a coveted scholarship and was awarded the Pierre Andre-Salim award for raising the standard of excellence.

In Love Junkies, 7 Steps for Breaking the Toxic Relationship Cycle, delves into her own self-identification as a love junky, Christy Johnson reveals the end of her first marriage as a result of her husband’s abuse and drug addiction, and her marital infidelity. She also shares the devastation she faced when her ex-husband, while under the influence of narcotics, had a head-on car collision, which caused the death of their three-year old son. Her ex-husband spent time in a psychiatric ward, and received a deferred sentence for involuntary manslaughter.
 
With the help of counseling and her faith in God, she was able to have a healthy second marriage. She now shares her story with the hope of helping guiding other women to eliminate toxic behaviors that jeopardize their soul-health.
