Breaking News! You heard it here first...
On Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Governor Nathan Deal will be issuing an executive proclamation naming Saturday, April 14, 2012 as statewide knitting and crochet day.
In the words of Benjamin Levisay, "This is, as far as we know, the first time that the highest executive of any state in our Union has ever acknowledged knitters and crocheters—not to mention naming a day for us statewide. This is not just a victory for the Guilds and for knitters and crocheters of Georgia; it’s a victory for us all. This acknowledgement celebrates and elevates the entire industry and our craft!"
Joining me today are Marian, curret president of the Atlanda Knitting Guild and Jolie, current president of the North Georgia Knititng Guild to talk about this monumentous event!
