"You see man made the cars
To take us over the road
Man made the train
To carry the heavy load
Man made the electric light
To take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water
Like Noah made the ark"
- James Brown, "It's a Man's World"
Well, so what? Is this really a man's world? Is there something inherently unique about masculinity which promotes innovation in science, technology, and commerce or was it because the "other gender" was strategically excluded from such opportunities? Is there a gender specific role for men in society, and if so, who determines this? Are men now truthfully experiencing a systemic institutionalized marginalization or is this charge of marginalization pointless bellyaching as society moves towards gender equality?
The Yardie Skeptics will be continuing their month long examination of masculinity this Sunday, June 8th at 12:30pm EDT (11:30am Jamaica time) as we ask the question, is it a man's world? Tune in and be a part of this timely and relevant discussion!
