Tonights Special guests Include:  Kirsten John Foy- Legislative Aide to Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, 45th District Councilman Jumaane D. Williams, Writer/Activist April R. Silver (www.akilaworksongs.com), & Reverend Kymberly Clemons-Jones of "The Wanted" mentoring project.

The history of our nation can at times evoke grave memories of racism, classism, separate but (un)equal, the taboo of interracial relations, the minority's fight for equality, the 3/5ths comprimise, racial profiling, a corrupt "justice" system, etc.

But that's all in the past...Right? Right?? WRONG!

Sadly we deal with most if not all of these realities everyday' See examples on the news (execution of Troy Davis (the unprovoked "detainment" of Councilman Jumaane Williams & Kirsten Foy (Labor Day 2011), dragging death slaying of James Byrd Jr., uprovoked NYPD shooting murders of Amadou Diallo (1999) & Sean Bell (2006), dismissed rape claim of Nafissatou Diallo), talk about them in our communities, hear about them across the nation & all around the world, live it in our daily lives.

Join Xtreme Praise as we talk about how the Past is still our Present & What Can we Do to Truly Change & Create a Better Future! April Silver will shed light on the pending case of the "Monumental 5" (court date set Tues, 9/27/11)
