With a ten-second lead, Lewis Hamilton won the Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone, in Great Britain. As soon as the lights went out on the formation lineup at the starting grid, the two Williams-Martini drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa jumped out in front of pole sitter Lewis Hamilton, making it a one-two on the track for the Williams team, the first time this season. Felipe Massa was leading but it was Bottas who had the pace and wanted to take the lead, but the team did not order Massa to give up the position to Bottas, which some say was a mistake. By lap 3, British fans were shaking their heads in disbelief as hometown hero Lewis Hamilton was fighting to get around second place Valtteri Bottas, who was behind race leader Felipe Massa, but by the end of the race, two-time champion Lewis Hamilton was out in front and headed towards victory. Crossing the finish line behind Hamilton was, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Felipe Massa, and Valtteri Bottas in the top five. Hamilton broke the record for leading consecutive races with eight-teen. For the first time this season McLaren-Honda scored a point crossing the finish line tenth with Fernando Alonso behind the wheel. While his McLaren-Honda teammate, Jenson Button, suffered a DNF in the first lap. Lotus drivers Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean made contact and were out of the race, before the lap three. The Ferrari team was elated to see their driver Sebastian Vettel go from fifth, to a third place finish. Vettel jumping ship from Red Bull has paid off well for the Ferrari team. Both Red Bull drivers have been struggling with the cars all season. The top three-team championship constructors are Mercedes, Williams, and Ferrari. Next race, Hungary July 26, 2015
