Why does outsourcing sometimes have disappointing results? Gabriele McLaughlin, a Xerox Innovation Architect talks with Bryan Baker, thought leader with Xerox Services and outsourcing expert, about the importance of looking beyond cutting costs to yield long-term results through outsourcing. Trust between a company and provider is key, and both parties must share an understanding of strategic goals and a dedication to applying innovation in order for outsourcing to be worthwhile. Baker stresses that the initial “due diligence” phase never be cut short, as this is when mutual understanding is developed and expectations are set.
