  Remember when as kids and teenagers:

   

   

  A "Coke" was just a "coke"?

   

   

  We used rotary phones instead of cell phones or a BlackBerry and we as teens didn't have them?

   

   

  We had phones and party lines instead of chat rooms and IMs?

   

   

  We had "knock the f**k out" instead of "time-out"?

   

   

  We had spankings 1^st and conversations later if we were lucky?

   

   

  We had 8 tracks and cassettes instead of CDs, MP3s, and IPods?

   

   

  We dealt "Park Place, Boardwalk, and Reading Railroad" instead of drugs and weapons?

   

   

  We played "PONG" instead of play station?

   

   

  We brought squirt guns to school instead of Dungeons and Dragons?

   

   

  Teachers could TEACH and we could LEARN instead of FEAR?

   

   

  We had "aides" instead of "aids"?

   

   

  We were sneaking cigarettes instead of pills and drugs?

   

   

  Sports were fun and about teamwork and values instead of intense competition or our parents?

   

   

  We actually wrote and passed notes in school instead of emails and text messages?

   

   

  When boys wrote girls love notes instead of treating them like sex objects?

   

   

  We played hide and go seek and never came up missing on a milk carton?

   

   

  We had regular TV with 6 channels and not even a cuss word instead of cable with hundreds of channels and all of the violence and sex you can imagine?

   

   

  Our parents were actually able to teach us values and morals instead of answering to someone from social services (which isn't much of a service at all)?

   

   

  Steps were what we counted when walking instead of which 12 step program you're in?

   

   

  Things were private instead of PUBLIC?

   

   

  We actually played, socialized, and hung out with friends in our neighborhoods instead of the internet?

   

   

  Our parents were married for 20, 30, 40, 50 years and we never had to worry about which parent we were going to spend the weekend with?

   

   

  We worried about acme and hairstyles instead of cosmetic surgery and birth control?

   

   

  A Coach was on the sidelines instead of a bag to put your things in?

   

   

  When an empty bottle was worth at least 5-10 cents?

   

   

   

  So if that was then, this is now, then WTF is TOMORROW going to bring?
