For more than a decade, the international waterways around the Horn of Africa, have been a hotbed of one of the world's oldest crimes: Piracy. In both the Red Sea and the coastal regions of Somalia, the seizing and ransoming of merchant ships has often reached epidemic proportions, and has become a genuine concern to those charged with enforcing freedom of navigation. In response, the Combined Maritime Forces coalition (a 25 nation group based in Bahrain) formed Combined Task Force (CTF) 151 in 2009 to combat piracy around the Horn of Africa, and it has been most effective.

To get an inside look at what CTF 151 is all about, join us on Military Monday, when host John D. Gresham will interview USNI author and former CTF 151 commander, rear Adm. Terry McKnight, USN (Ret.). Author of the new USNI book, Pirate Alley: Commanding Task Force 151 Off Somalia, Rear Adm. McKnight will provide listeners With an inside look into Counter-Piracy operations today. So join us at 1 PM EDT On Monday, July 22, into what promises to be a fascinating look into one of today's most challenging military operations.
