    I wondered what caused the church to ignore the authentic needs of hurting communities and resort to “pimping” (Pimping is the practice of using a combination of threats and promises for the purpose of maintaining control of person’s life) for the sake of institutional survival? What ever happened to the self-less churches and faith communities of old that started hospitals, specialized schools, colleges, universities, and community programs for families and children that stand today as examples of love for God and community?
