    Randomania: The Return

Ladies and gentlemen, now coming out of retirement like Ric Flair to spread more love than Dana White has for himself, it's Randomania!

Before I get rolling, I owe huge apologies to you WrestleRadioRockers.  I have been horrible on keeping up with these Randomanias.  To be honest, things have been hectic in my personal life.  Nothing horrible, it's just been busy.  When I have time to blog, I have no inspiration, and when I have inspiration, I have no time.  I'm hoping that, form here on out, I do a better job on sharing my thoughts with you, if not regularly, at least every so often.

    That is, if you care...

Ah, let's see.  You know, I was actually on Vince's side (gasp!) for a while with this whole Denver debacle, but once he started to milk it too long, I stopped caring.  I mean, even though what the Pepsi Center and it's owners did was a little shady from a legal standpoint, the moment McMahon tried to turn this into an angle, I got really sick of it.  I mean, c'mon, a ten-man tag, fashoned out of the Lakers and Nuggets?  We got it Vince, you hate Denver for telling you "no".  No means no, Vinnie Mac... no means no.

Speaking of Raw, how about Mr. Kennedy's return... only to hurt his wrist taking the RKO?  Is it a sign?  I think so.

Finished Hardcore History, or, as I like to call it, The Rise and Fall of ECW, As Told by People Who Aren't On WWE Payroll.  I HIGHLY implore you to pick this up.  This book was thorough and full of surprises (such as finding out that Vince McMahon was ACTUALLY secretly funding ECW... as was Bischoff), and completely, as the Manager of Champions would say, "Right down the middle."  If I had been on the show this last time, this would have been my "Pick of the Week".

Since we're on ECW, did anyone catch Joey Styles' comments on President Obama (the ad on the side of the page I'm typing on reminded me of this)?  Wow... I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Joey is a Republican (hmm, no wonder Vince keeps him around), and I would have been alright with him voicing his disgust over the Notre Dame speech, but I think he went too far calling him "Barack Hussein".  Hey, I like Joey, and I could care less if he is conservative, but the name-calling comes across as racist, something I could have NEVER pictured Styles being, and something I do NOT support, being from conservatives or liberals.  Grow the hell up, Joey.  I wonder if he ever wore his Klan outfit to TV tapings...

So I was reading a story on Fightline.com about how UFC president Dana White is butthurt about how ESPN portrayed his organization on E:60.  Now, don't get me wrong, I like Mixed Martial Arts (being an ex-martial artist myself... hell, they were even silly enough to give me a Black Belt, which doesn't count now, being almost 7 years later), even though I prefer Pride or old UFC (before weight classes and everybody fighting a copycat style), I still enjoy the product that White's shilling, but read his rebuttal.  He argues like a Junior Varsity lineman picking on a nerdy kid who outsmarted him.  F this and F that, hell, here are a few lines from his interview (courtesy of Fightline.com):

“I got the (Armed Forces Humanitarian Award) two (expletive) months ago,” White said. “Did you see that in there? They go out and find three people - Tito Ortiz, Pat Miletich and some (expletive) guy that doesn’t like UFC in New York - and that’s what the (expletive) story is about? (Expletive) them. It’s the same story I’ve seen a million times.”

    On Pat Miletech:
“Pat Miletich is a very bitter guy right now,” White stated. “Pat is not one of the smartest people you’re ever going to meet. He sees these guys around him, like Tim Sylvia, who made a couple million bucks in his career. Pat Miletich hasn’t made any money because he’s not a smart guy. It’s not my fault Pat Miletich is a (expletive) dummy.”

    Wow, you sure told him...

Again, I like UFC, and I do think it's crap that ESPN chose to portray it negatively.  When man first graced this planet, they either fought or ran, not dribble a ball on a saber-toothed tiger's head.  However, Dana's approach comes off as a-holeish or, worse, angry McMahon-ish.  Come on, it's ESPN.  Disney owns them, so what did you expect?  By giving the reaction that you did, you proved them right about being a d-bag.  It's already hard to refute that charge.  Who was the last secret character on the first UFC game for the PS2 and, ultimately, one of the best?  Dana White.  Who is the first guy you see after the THQ and Yuke's logos, as well as the guy who introduces you to the Career Mode in the new UFC Undisputed 2009?

    That's what I thought...

By the way, the latter game is pretty badass, but more on that when I return on Saturday.

Anyway, that was a lot more than I had anticipated on spewed out.  Feels good, I should do it more often.  Hope you all have a good week, and see you Saturday.

"Where have you gone, GQ Gall-hall-oh..."
