Thanks for your contributions on BTR. Let's not sweep single parenting topics and MALE RESPONSIBLITY under the rug. I realize that I am TAGGED as bitter and disgruntled, but what would that make men who walk away from their children? I thank you for continuing the labels on men who are not responsible. My child's father is trying to tell the world that he is NOT a deadbeat, NOT irresponsible, DID NOT walk away, DOES want to parent. You guys have helped me to make it evident that it is not what a man says, but what he does. Therefore his stereotypical label is befitting to him, no matter what he protests. MEN MUST BE PROACTIVE IN PRESERVING THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS AS A FATHER. I will continue to blog, discuss, and support women who want to talk about it. AMERICA is in denial & shame about SINGLE MOMS and fatherhood responsiblity. There's a movement in America by women to further remove men from the family, and teach young mothers to make a man give up his parental rights as an ultimatum. This is more damaging to our society than male castration. We have more conversations on how to date, than how to parent. IT IS NOT OK FOR A CHILD TO BE WITHOUT A FATHER. We know very well how to live without fathers, it is time to learn how to live with fathers. The children are hurting, obviously not the mothers. Cheryl Lacey Donovan speaks with Mo and Mickey about her new book The Ministry of Motherhood
Court ordered child support was designed to assure that children are cared for financially by both parents.
"I received a court order for child support but never received a penny after the order was made," Says
Lacey-Donovan, author of the soon to be released Ministry of Motherhood.
To add insult ot injury Cheryl says she tried to collect through a private agency and was told that everyone
was trying to get money from her ex-husband.
Cheryl's experience is not uncommon. She says the Attorney General's office focuses more on mothers
who are on public assistance because the government wants to recoup some of its money.
"Even then many mothers never receive a dime. That's why I advocate that mothers take a different
approach. You see, I had to learn that Child Support was not my source. My true source was God. Once I
began operating from that belief, my life began to change."
Cheryl's says that mothers need to stop focusing so much on receiving money from others and begin to
look to themselves for the financial security they seek.
"The truth of the matter is, many of these men were not responsible from the outset, so assuming that they
will be responsible fathers is a jump," says Cheryl

Cheryl Donovan's life is a true reflection of God's faithfulness. Mrs. Donovan encountered God at an early
