Shani is multifaceted in Photography, Writing, The Arts, and Graphic Design. From the age of ten her mother made sure she knew that there was a world outside of the inner city living that she grew up in. From community choirs, Art camps, and weekends attending the San Diego art scene, Shani carried the knowledge and love for entertainment throughout her life. Shani Fenderson, writer, producer, photographer, and entrepreneur has interviewed several well-known gospel artist, hip-hop groups, and musicians in which she received a first and second place journalism award at the Riverside California County College Competition. A member of The National Association for Black Journalist (NABJ), and Gospel Music Workshop of America Riverside Chapter (GMWA), Shani has traveled and met with many elite artists in her field. During her stay in Riverside, she attended Riverside Community College (R.C.C.) where she majored in Business, Photography and in Journalism. She also received several awards for her contributions as News Editor for Viewpoints, RCC’s college newspaper. She has worked with several companies as a customer care professional, and photographer for Golden Leaf Photography and PCA International. Currently she runs her own companies SouthSyde Magazine, SouthSyde Soul, Mello D Entertainment, and May House Press & Publications, L.L.C. Shani was born in Southeast San Diego and reared both in San Diego and East Texas. She graduated from Troup High School and is currently attending The Art Institute of Philadelphia earning a Bachelors of Science Graphic Design. Shani plans on furthering her writing not only in Christian fiction, but also children’s stories, and self-help books.
